DEVICE SETTINGS
The Device Settings panel—found within the Settings tab of the ARC Audio DNA software—is dedicated to system-level hardware behaviors that remain constant across all presets. These settings govern how the DSP-integrated amplifier or processor behaves during startup, shutdown, idle, and signal detection, giving installers deep control over critical behaviors and system stability.
1) Turn-On / Turn-Off Functions
This group of settings controls when and how your DSP and system components power up and down:
Amp Turn-On Delay lets users set a delay for built-in amplifier activation, helping avoid unwanted turn-on “pops.”
Turn-On Out Delay adjusts the delay time for the DSP’s remote output trigger to external amplifiers, ensuring clean, staggered system startup.
Turn-On Hold Time manages how long the DSP keeps its muting circuits active on shutdown to prevent thumps and speaker damage.
Auto-Sense Hold defines signal threshold timing when using signal-sensing inputs—ideal for OEM integration or devices without dedicated remote turn-on leads.
2) Class-D Frequency
An ARC Audio exclusive. This tool allows users to adjust the switching frequency of ARC Audio DSP-equipped Class-D amplifiers. This can help eliminate electromagnetic interference that may affect vehicle systems like radios, DAB, CAN networks, or cause heterodyne noise. No other DSP amplifier on the market offers this level of EMI problem-solving flexibility.
3) Diagnostics
Get real-time performance stats:
Heatsink, transformer, and CPU temperatures (in °F or °C)
Digital input sample and bit rate
LR1 controller signal percentageThis diagnostic insight is crucial for system health monitoring and tech support.
4) Options
This section includes critical toggles for system-wide behavior:
+12V Preset Switches lets you set the trigger polarity for external preset selection.
Master Volume is Global ensures volume carries over across all presets.
Auto Power-Down Amplifier puts the amplifier into an ultra-low-draw idle state when idle, preserving battery power and restarting instantly.
5) PSC Controls
Manage the PSC (Programmable System Controller) and compatible ARC Audio remotes:
Disable driving warnings
Save PSC volume on restart
Show device name on the controller
Sync preset colors and UI lighting
Add password protection for secure access to critical functions
6) S/PDIF Auto-Select
This feature auto-detects incoming digital audio signals (optical/coaxial) and can automatically switch to a dedicated input preset. Time delays can be defined to avoid false triggering or unwanted switching during quiet passages. This ensures seamless transitions and consistent listening experiences when switching between analog and digital sources.
7) Output Bridging
Define and group bridged channels so their tuning controls (EQ, crossover, delay, etc.) move in sync. Great for simplifying subwoofer or multi-amp installs where matched channels must stay identical. Reduces setup time and eliminates human error during tuning.
8) WiFi Control
When paired with the optional ARC Audio AXP wireless expansion module, users can tune wirelessly from their PC, maintaining full control over the DNA software from anywhere in the vehicle or shop.
Together, these tools make the Device Settings panel an essential hub for installers and advanced users, allowing refined hardware control, smoother integration, and faster troubleshooting—features not found on competitor platforms.
