DYNAMIC EQ

The Dynamic EQ in ARC Audio’s DNA software intelligently adapts your system’s tonal balance based on volume levels and human hearing behavior. This unique and advanced feature compensates for the Fletcher-Munson effect—how our ears perceive bass and treble less intensely at low volumes—by dynamically boosting or reducing specific frequency ranges in real time.

The system uses a low-shelf filter for bass, a high-shelf filter for treble, and a fully parametric band for midrange. Each filter includes adjustable gain (+18dB to -24dB), frequency, Q/slope, and both low- and high-volume thresholds, allowing users to tailor how much compensation is applied and when it activates. This ensures seamless transitions in tonal response as the system gets louder or quieter.

Dynamic EQ settings can be applied per preset, assigned to specific output channels, or set to follow the master volume control, LR1 remote, or even iDatalink Maestro integration. It works perfectly for music, podcasts, and navigation prompts—automatically optimizing tonal response for each. Whether it’s compensating for low-volume listening or enhancing clarity at higher SPL, Dynamic EQ makes your system sound right at every level—without ever needing to touch the controls.
