S/PDIF AUTO-DETECT
S/PDIF Auto-Select is a hands-free digital input detection feature in ARC Audio’s DNA software that automatically senses when a valid S/PDIF signal is present and seamlessly switches to it. This eliminates the need for users to manually toggle between analog and digital input sources—making integration with high-end head units, streamers, and digital transports fast and effortless.
When a valid S/PDIF digital audio stream is detected, the DNA software overrides the default analog input and locks into the digital source. If the digital stream is disconnected or lost, the system reverts to the analog input automatically. This dynamic switching is near-instantaneous and ensures uninterrupted playback with no loss in signal or quality.
It’s perfect for users who switch between sources like factory head units, external digital streamers, or hi-res DAPs. Installers benefit from less user confusion and fewer interface steps for end customers.
This feature is enabled and configured in the Device Settings panel and works across all ARC Audio DSPs equipped with S/PDIF input hardware. It’s yet another way DNA simplifies real-world system use without compromising on fidelity or flexibility.
