Description

The ARC Audio D.O.C. Adapter is a required supplemental digital input accessory for use with all ARC Audio stand-alone DSPs and DSP-equipped amplifiers featuring RJ45 digital input terminals when integrating a high-resolution digital coaxial source. It is specifically designed to allow compatible ARC Audio processors to accept and optimize digital audio signals above 96kHz, up to 192kHz, ensuring maximum signal performance and processing accuracy.

The D.O.C. functions as an in-line digital coax adapter, utilizing ARC Audio’s ultra-low loss connection architecture to support native 32-bit digital signals up to 196kHz. Rather than relying on long, high-cost digital coaxial cables—which can introduce signal loss and unnecessary expense—the D.O.C. enables installers to run a standard RJ45-terminated Cat5, Cat6, or Cat6e Ethernet cable (sold separately) from the DSP or DSP amplifier to the source location within the vehicle.

Once positioned near the digital source, the D.O.C. Adapter converts the RJ45 digital connection to a coaxial interface, allowing the use of a short, cost-effective digital coaxial cable—often as short as 1 ft (0.5 m). This installation method provides lower signal loss, improved noise immunity, and consistent high-resolution digital performance compared to traditional long-run coaxial installations, while significantly reducing overall system cost.

The D.O.C. Adapter features a single coaxial digital signal connection, a locking RJ45 Ethernet port, and is built on a compact, custom single-layer PCB. The assembly is protected with form-fitting heat shrink and is designed to be secured using a zip tie or wire-management device to an existing harness or mounting point behind a panel or compartment near the digital media source. This compact, installer-friendly design makes the D.O.C. Adapter an essential solution for high-resolution digital coaxial integration in ARC Audio DSP systems.
